Rygalik / Studio Rygalik
DESIGNER
He is a designer, lecturer, curator and doctor of art. He was born in Łódź in 1976 and studied architecture at the Technical University of Łódź. In 1999, he graduated in industrial design from the Pratt Institute in New York. After graduating, he went on to work with a number of high-profile design firms in the US, serving clients such as Kodak, Polaroid, MTV, PerkinElmer, Dentsply, Unilever, Dupont.
After completing his MA at the Royal College of Art in London in 2005, he joined the research and development team at the RCA. During the same period, he set up his own design studio, based in both London and Łódź. Since 2008, he has been running the design studio at the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and in 2009 he moved to Warsaw permanently. Since 2012, he has been co-manager of Studio Rygalik, which he founded together with his partner, designer Gosia Rygalik.
His extensive collaborations include projects for renowned brands such as Moroso, Noti, Profim, Ideal Standard, Siemens, Heineken and Ikea. He has held the role of creative director at leading Polish furniture brands, including Comforty and Paged. He carries out numerous projects for cultural institutions, including the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Grand Theatre – National Opera, the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, BOZAR, Zachęta, the Frederic Chopin Museum, the National Museum and the Institutes of Polish Culture. In 2011, he served as the architect of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. He has created many collections for Paged, including LOF, BENKO or K2.
