The PLASA chair's design draws from classic bent café chairs, evident in the shape of its backrest. This reference is filtered through new wood processing technologies and the goal of maximizing weight reduction without sacrificing the furniture's durability and stability, essential for both commercial markets and home environments. Thanks to the ergonomically shaped plywood for the seat and backrest, Plasa offers comfortable seating. Additionally, the seat can be equipped with an upholstered pad. Its low weight makes the chair user-friendly for daily handling, such as pulling it out and pushing it under a table. A significant feature of this model, which proves useful in commercial spaces like cafes or restaurants, is also its stackability.

Szpunar

DESIGNER

Designer. He graduated in Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. His area of activity includes the design of furniture and interior design objects, both for industrial and short-run production. In addition to his collaborations with industry, he also creates paintings painted with his own tools and projects on the borderline of art.

He has won numerous awards, including in the Good Design, International Furniture Design Award (Asahikawa), Make me! and Must Have competitions. He won the Designer of the Year 2019 title from Arena Design and Designer of the Year 2021 from the Institute of Industrial Design. His designs have been presented at international trade fairs, exhibitions and industry events in Berlin, Milan, London, New York, Hong Kong and Japan. He is the co-author of the AlterEgo collection, awarded in the Good Design 2024 competition in the Best Polish Design category, for which he created ICHO-MIO and the PLASA chair. For Paged Meble, he also designed the PROP family of furniture and the TUK collection.
