Blending Heritage and Innovation: Explore Paged Meble’s Cutting-Edge Designs at Clerkenwell Design Week!

Paged Meble warmly invites you to join us at Clerkenwell Design Week 2024, taking place from May 21-23 in London’s vibrant design hub. As a continuation of the legacy established by Michael Thonet, Paged Meble proudly upholds the traditions of bentwood furniture making while infusing modern innovation into each piece. We are a Polish company, with manufacturing facilities located within the European Union, showcasing our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship and design.

Paged Meble, a renowned Polish furniture manufacturer, has a rich history that dates back to 1881. Known for its expertise in bentwood furniture, historically a part of Thonet-Mundus-Kohn empire, Paged has been at the forefront of design and craftsmanship for over a century. The company’s longevity and success can be attributed to its dedication to combining traditional woodworking techniques with modern design, allowing it to consistently offer products that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable and functional.

Bentwood furniture, the hallmark of Paged Meble’s offering, involves a unique process of shaping wood by steam-bending. This technique, pioneered in the 19th century by Michael Thonet, has been perfected by Paged over the decades. The company’s bentwood pieces are celebrated for their elegance, fluid lines, and resilience, making them a favoured choice in various settings, from homes to high-end restaurants, hotels and cafes.

Throughout its history, Paged Meble has maintained a commitment to innovation while honouring its roots in traditional craftsmanship. The company’s approach to design is marked by a continual search for new inspirations and trends, which is evident in their collaborations with contemporary designers like Maja Ganszyniec, one of the most recognisable designers in Poland. These partnerships have enabled Paged to refresh its classic designs with new colour palettes and modern aesthetics, aligning with current trends while preserving the timeless appeal of its furniture.

Maja Ganszyniec commented on the new developments at Paged Meble, saying, “We are introducing a new colour palette, specially designed for the Paged brand, which seamlessly blends into contemporary interiors. This palette is inspired by the essence of naturalness and warmth, inviting shades of wood. It’s not just about aesthetics but also about creating a feeling of warmth and comfort that complements modern living spaces.”

Further elaborating on the new furniture colour palette, she added, “The latest additions to the Paged Meble portfolio draw inspiration from the inherent beauty of nature. We’ve introduced a range of stains and enamels that revitalize traditional materials and designs with a modern twist. These new shades enhance the natural texture of the wood, offering a fresh and contemporary look while maintaining the timeless elegance that Paged Meble is known for.”

As Michal Mroz, CEO of Paged, says, it is the cooperation with designers and sustainable development that are key elements of the company’s long-range strategy:

– In the next few years, we want to put a strong focus on strengthening our own brand, so we have started working with recognized designers, resulting in a collection based on our classic designs in new looks and new colours. We plan to streamline the company operationally, invest in innovative chair-making technologies and more effectively transfer market and customer knowledge to the company, but in doing so we don’t want to give away our design, skills and unique hand-bent wood technology, which only a few companies in the world can use, to someone else.
